Jim Politis- Antonis Priftis live On Friday May 27, 2016 at 21:30 Linto Stage hosts the Jim Politis and Antonis Priftis duo.
The Dimitris Politis (founding member of The Ghost Notes) and Antonis Priftis (founding member of the Rudy Roots) duo is a guitar, instrumental band that was founded in 2016 and presents a series of music pieces from the jazz, soul, funk, pop , bebop and swing music scene, creating a musical journey from the early 30's, with adaptations of Django Reinhardt, the Dizzy Gillespie and other composers of the time, the time of post bebop era (Charlie Parker, John Coltrane), till the more modern "pop" era of Barry White, Stevie Wonder, in a unique guitar way.
The two virtuosos are famous in the Jazz and Swing music scene both in Greece and abroad- Dimitris Politis through successful appearances and seminars in Europe and Asia and through partnerships like the one with Stochelo Rosenberg of the Rosenberg trio, and Antonis Priftis through his collaborations with renowned Greek and foreign musicians in Greece and America like James Casey and Cristian Bernahard.
After years of experience in the field of modern music, in various music bands and of different styles, they wanted to join powers, based on their love of music and that of jazz in particular, and present audiences in Greece and abroad with something special.
